HAUTE MESS

Luke Wintour is a London-based director working across film and theatre. In film, his directorial debut Rat King was commissioned by the Institute of Contemporary Art and BBC, screening at the ICA and broadcast on BBC Four. His narrative short Sweetheart, set in 1720s London's underground "Molly house" community, premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, was acquired by Film4, nominated for the Iris Prize and winner at the 1.4 awards.

He co-founded Freight Theatre, whose innovative, politically engaged visual work has been called "a company to watch" by The Stage. His theatre credits include Move Fast and Break Things, a "micro tech epic" staged at Summerhall for the Edinburgh Fringe using live cinema techniques - dolls' houses, water tanks, and ash piles - to bring the story to the stage. He co-created Pieces of Heaven by Porridge Radio at the Pompidou Centre. He is also the co-founder of French company FouleFouleFoule whose first piece Tunnel will premiere at the Avignon Festival in 2027.
